The configuration gives you full control of all 3 pickups to use individually or altogether in any order and a master tone. 3 Volume Configuration The 3 volume and 1 master tone configuration is where the 2nd Tone control is reassigned to the Middle pickup Volume control. The Middle pickup is always on (regardless of the toggle switch position) and you can blend it in with either or both the Bridge & Neck. With the switch in the middle position, you can turn down the bridge and neck and feature only the middle pickup. Basically it gives you full control of all 3 pickups to use individually or altogether in any order and a master tone. If installing into an imported model / DIY guitar kit you will need to ensure the Potentiometer holes will take CTS pots (approx 10mm). This can be done using a round file or carefully with a 10mm drill. Centre to centre measurements between components Centre of neck volume pot and neck tone pot – 45mm. Centre of neck volume pot and bridge volume pot – 40mm. Centre of neck tone pot and bridge tone pot – 54mm. Centre of bridge volume pot and bridge tone pot – 50mm. Measurements can sometimes vary slightly on some Firebird models, so we allow plenty of movement in wire lengths between components to allow for a comfortable fit.
